What is this Podcast?
You're probably wondering. What's this podcast you keep talking about? Well, me and my friends have created a podcast that you can listen to RIGHT NOW! It's called "The Provokers". This is a podcast that aims to talk about controversial issues as well as completely random things that don’t matter in the slightest. We want to encourage all of you to talk about the topics that we talk about. So grab your headphones, grab your popcorn, relax and let’s spill the tea together!
What type of Podcast are you?
We are a comedy-centric podcast that occasionally dabbles with serious and controversial topics. Every 10th episode (example: 10th, 20th, 30th) is about a serious topic. Episode 20 for example talks about mental health, which is an ever-growing important topic in this day and age. Every episode leading up to these ones are purely nonsensical and is geared to make you laugh. We talk about things like video games, funny stories, life experiences, opinions on certain brands and so on. What’s the gimmick with your Podcast?
In each episode, there is a “host” that does the intro/outro and decides the topic of said episode. The two people that are not the host then have to compete for points (that the host dishes out) in order to secure a win. Whoever gets the most points is crowned the winner and gets the honor of hosting the next episode. This is the formula for most episodes, some episodes work a bit differently, but you’ll just have to listen to the podcast and find out!
What was/are your inspirations?
If what we described above is starting to sound familiar, then you might have heard of a Podcast called “Distractible”. It’s a Podcast featuring “Markiplier” and his friends Bob and Wade. They are a huge inspiration for our podcast as they have 3 hosts, a different topic each episode and a new host that controls the topic/winner. What sets us apart is our unique humor, jokes and overall environment. This might sound crazy, but me John and Noah are in fact NOT Mark, Bob and Wade. Their trio creates a unique environment filled with humor, chaos and laughter. To that extent, so does ours. With me as the sarcastic gameshow fanatic, John as the nonchalant joke master and Noah as the swearing sailor, we all create a unique podcast experience that you wont find anywhere else! That being said, credit needs to be given to Distractible and all of the brilliant minds behind it. In fact, if you like our podcast, you will definitely like Distractible. On the flip side, if you’ve listened to Distractible and you haven’t listened to us yet, than I highly recommend you give us a try!
